Research is an important part of my work. By trying to challenge the traditional definitions of jewellery and by ridding her of status and stereotypes, I strive to get back to the core and then let it regrow with new images. Jewellery as the amulet is a recurring theme for me. In this way I try to make jewellery that in their own way symbolise self-determination and that remind us of the power within ourselves and the ability to make change in our lives. Such a piece of jewellery can be displayed autonomously, but by wearing it I try to create a symbiosis between the work and the wearer as a participant.
